First week of 2018

It’s 2018! Happy New Year.

If you’re reading this post that means that I have successfully written and published my first blog of the year, carrying out one of my resolutions!

I feel like we all expect to have a wonderful first week of the year. We’re so full of optimism for the new year and you’re ready to take on anything.

That’s certainly what I always expect, but sometimes reality gets in the way of that daydream! For me, reality was a sore throat, headache, and stuffy nose. *sigh* On the bright side, the crazy snow has given me two snow days and a four day weekend! Whoooo! Thank you, New England. (For the snow days, not the insane wind chill and negative degree weather.)

I’m a bit superstitious and so being sick kind of made me have this feeling that the first week was going to be a representation of the rest of the year. While that could be true, I realized that each day is also kind of like a new year, just with less time. That may make no sense and be totally cheesy, but it’s true! Each day is a new chance to start over and you can’t let one bad day ruin your week, month, or even your year! *cue friends theme*

OK, enough with the cheesiness. I thought I’d share a few links to end this post:

I’m currently reading this. Have you read it/did you like it? I have high expectations and I’m liking it so far. Not sure how I feel about the narration yet, though. But I definitely am gonna watch the movie because I’ve heard great things about it.

This is such a cute idea. I’ve been loving felt lately!

Chocolate ice cream cake with mint meringue. OMG.

Look at this pool! (Or just google Bondi Icebergs.) So gorgeous it doesn’t even look real. It’s in Sydney, Australia and I’ve never wanted to go there more. I love pools.

These are crazy and I’d never wear them but they’re super pretty.

Finally, the Google Year in Search video is pretty powerful.

OK, that’s it. Hope everyone has a great day!
