DIY Branch Jewelry Holder

Last night, I was reorganizing my room a bit. I came across a box of jewelry and some necklaces were tangled together, and I decided to organize them. I looked up jewelry holder DIY’s on Pinterest and they were all pretty complicated and/or had materials I don’t have. I have been into doing weaving with sticks lately, and I had some unused ones in my room. (Weird, I know!)

Here are the materials you’ll need:
-Drywall screws (or whatever kind of screws you have, it really doesn’t matter)
-screwdriver
-branch (preferably a sturdy one that will be able to hold your jewelry.)
-jewelry

Here’s how I made it:

Step 1:
Take the branch and place the screw where you want it.

Step 2:
Take the screwdriver and twist the screw into the branch. You will need to push it in with a lot of force. You’ll know when it’s secure. I don’t like mine super close together and perfect. I mean… it IS a stick, after all, and sticks aren’t perfect! 🙂 I placed them all down the branch until it was pretty full, but you can do as many as you want.

Step 3:
Figure out where you want it on your wall. Depending what kind of wall you have, you may have to use a different kind of screw, but since mine are drywall, I used the same kind that I used in the branch. So if your walls aren’t drywall, check before you put in the screws!!

Step 4:
Place the branch on the wall, and add your jewelry! This is the fun part! 🙂 If your stick has little tiny branches sticking out of it, like mine does, you can add rings to it! I also hung some earrings from it, too.

This was a super fun craft, and it looks so good in my room! I think it will inspire me to wear more jewelry! If you try this, be sure to tag me in a photo on Instagram or Twitter!

Hope you enjoyed this #StudioJosieDIY!

Happy Sunday!

Super Easy Blueberry Smoothie Bowl

Hello, everyone! I don’t have school today so – after I slept till’ 11-o’clock :0 – I decided to make a smoothie bowl! I’ve been making them a lot lately but never did a post on them. (I did make an Acai Bowl one a little while back, though.)

I kinda made this recipe up myself, but its literally two ingredients and your choice of toppings!

Here are the ingredients:

-1 cup of milk of your choice
-1 cup frozen blueberrries
-(optional) 1 tbs maple syrup or honey for sweetening

And that’s it! Blend the ingredients together. I like my smoothie bowls thicker, but its up to you how thin or thick you want it. As for the toppings, I used:

-Kiwi
-Granola
-Honey
-Blueberries

But some other options are:

-coconut
-chia/flax seed
-almonds or other nuts
-other fruits
-anything you want!

Don’t forget to make it look pretty! That’s my favorite part :).

“In Real Life” by Jessica Love ~ Book Review

Hi, everyone! Hope you’re all having a great Saturday! I went to Barnes and Noble last Sunday and got three new books. The first one I read was “In Real Life” by Jessica Love. Here’s the summary (from the book, not written by me!) :

Hannah Cho and Nick Cooper have been best friends since 8th grade. They talk for hours on the phone, regularly shower each other with presents, and know everything there is to know about one another.

There’s just one problem: Hannah and Nick have never actually met.

Hannah has spent her entire life doing what she’s supposed to, but when her senior year spring break plans get ruined by a rule-breaker, she decides to break a rule or two herself. She impulsively decides to road trip to Las Vegas, her older sister and BFF in tow, to surprise Nick and finally declare her more-than-friend feelings for him.

Hannah’s surprise romantic gesture backfires when she gets to Vegas and finds out that Nick has been keeping some major secrets. Hannah knows the real Nick can’t be that different from the online Nick she knows and loves, but now she only has night in Sin City to figure out what her feelings for Nick really are, all while discovering how life can change when you break the rules every now and then.

***Before I start my review on it, I’m just going to give a quick disclaimer that all of these are my opinions and I’m doing this review for fun. It is not sponsored by anyone. 🙂 ***

OK! So I initially came across this book on Goodreads and it looked really good. Lately I’ve been loving YA Fiction/Realistic Fiction, and this book takes place in present-day time, so I was really excited to buy it! Let me just say, this book had a LOT of potential. Maybe I expected too much, but I think I could’ve liked it more.

The beginning was good, the end was awesome, but the middle was really boring. Hannah, the main character, just goes back and forth from place to place. She just talked and talked and talked some more.

CHARACTERS: The characters were awesome. Hannah was really compelling. I got really into the book and when she made bad decisions I was thinking, “Come on, Hannah!” And I got really annoyed with her, haha. That is a sign of a good book, though – getting so into the characters and their decisions.

PLOT: One thing that bothered me about this book was that basically the ENTIRE book took place in one night (their one night in Las Vegas). I have never read a book that takes place in just one day. It was really strange for me, I’m not sure if I liked it all that much.

ENTERTAINMENT: This book was incredibly entertaining. I loved all the pop culture references and there were some funny parts too. There were also some really awkward parts which I loved because everyone has awkward moments, and it made the book seem even more realistic!

WRITING: I have never read a book by Jessica Love, I think this is her first novel actually. I was impressed, though. Even though the plot wasn’t great, the writing was, overall, pretty smooth and kept me intrigued.

DETAIL: I love books with good detail. This book had a lot of it but I really wish she had told more about Nick and Hannah’s relationship! I thought they were so cute together. She did talk a lot about it BUT I wanted more!

If you’re looking for books that are/that have:
~YA Fiction
~Realistic
~Romance
~Entertainment
~Drama

you should read “In Real Life!”

Here are my stars for this book:

I hope you all liked my first book review! I plan on doing more. Let me know what you thought of this book, if you read it! Oh and if you have any books that you want me to read and review, I would happily do that! Just leave a comment here or on Instagram.

Happy weekend!
