NYC! Part Two.

Hello everyone and happy March! Okay… so it’s been a while since I posted the NYC Part One where I showed photos of my trip to New York. But now I’m fiiiiiinally doing part two! Yay! Here is the (long awaited) NYC Part Two!

Just to refresh your memory, we had just gone to Jacques Torres Chocolate where I got this delicious hot chocolate:

We headed back to the hotel and took the subway! I love the subway.

Then it was New Years Eve!

The next day was our last day. 😦 We woke up and went to a bagel place for breakfast called Pick-A-Bagel. I got an awesome cinnamon raison bagel with strawberry cream cheese. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of that… I don’t know how that happened! I always take photos of my food! Just take my word for it — it was delicious!

From there, we went to Central Park!

It was so cool being in Central Park. I’ve seen it in movies and TV shows and I was actually there! Oh – and the photo above is some sweet cashews. They were really tasty.

We went to the Apple Store after that which was SO AWESOME. I had never been in an Apple Store and this one was a great first experience. It was so crowded, though!

We walked back to Times Square (where our hotel was) and went into a couple shops to get souvenirs. I got a I Heart NYC shirt and a print of the city. 🙂 DSC_0149.JPGDSC_0147.JPG

And then we walked to Grand Central Station and went home! 😦

SO PRETTY.

I had so so much fun in New York and I can’t wait to go back. Maybe someday I will live there! That’d be the coolest. Once again I apologize for the excessive delay for this post! But I hope you enjoyed!

Oh and can you believe I’ve almost had this blog for a YEAR?! I think I started it in May of last year. WOW. That is crazy!

Have an amazing day!

Happy Valentine’s Day Eve! I found a recipe for this delicious chocolate bark on Pinterest and it looked really simple, so I decided to try it! You can find the recipe…

It was soooooo simple and a no-bake recipe, too. All you need is graham crackers, chocolate, and sprinkles! It’s very customizable. Plus – most of the ingredients are one’s you probably have at home.

Valentine’s Day Doily Garland DIY!

Happy Friday! I have the day off today because of the SNOW! First snow day of the year! Whoo hoo! This morning I made hot chocolate pancakes. They were delicious! I’m not going to post the recipe, but you can click on the link to check them out.

So good!!

So anyways, since I’m trapped in for the day, why not do a fun craft? Valentine’s Day is only a week from Sunday! I found some doilies in my room, and I had some twine too. I love love loooooove garlands and I think they’re so pretty and fun. So, without further ado, here’s the FIRST Studio Josie craft!

Materials:

  • Doilies (whatever color, I used silver, white, and red. You can probably find them at a craft store)
  • Twine
  • Scissors (forgot to include them in the picture – oops!)
  • Tape

Instructions:

Turn the doily around so that you can’t see the color. (If it’s white it won’t matter which side) Thread the twine through one of the holes in the doily.

Then, thread it through the other side.

Continue doing that with all of the other doilies.

I tied a little knot on the first and last one to keep them secure.

Find the spot you want to put them. I put them on the ceiling over my bed! Tape them, and then cut the extra twine off the end so it doesn’t hang down. Here’s the final product!

Hope you guys enjoyed the first craft on my blog! If you happen to try this out, post a picture and use the hashtag #StudioJosieDIY and tag me!

Have a great day!

Vegan Ginger Chocolate Chunk Scones

DSC_0220.JPG

Hi everyone! Happy Sunday! This morning I made some DELICIOUS Vegan Ginger Chocolate Chunk Scones. My mom and I found the recipe on Post Punk Kitchen. They have a ton of great vegan recipes.

Since I didn’t write the recipe, I’m just going to link it:

HERE!

I’m going to share my experience and photos with you.

So, first things first, the ingredients. I used all the ingredients the recipe called for, except for allspice. We didn’t have any, so instead we used a few dashes of cloves. In the recipe, they used a vegan chocolate bar, we just used mini vegan chocolate chips! Chocolate is chocolate, after all!

I mixed all of the dry ingredients first:

Then added all of the wet ingredients to it:

After that, it started to get really doughy, so I used my hands. It sort of felt like pizza dough. I added in the chocolate chips:

And then they were ready to go onto the baking sheet! Instead of greasing the pan I just used parchment paper, and I scooped the batter into a 1/4 cup. Then I added some turbinado sugar (which is in the batter already) to the top of the scones! Here they are all ready for the oven:

They were in the oven for 15 minutes, so I didn’t have to wait too long 🙂 Here is the finished product:

I seriously would recommend trying this recipe. They turned out so, so yummy! They aren’t too crunchy and the middle is soft. It’s the perfect blend of ginger and chocolate. Plus – it’s a super quick recipe! (By the way – it made 13 in total) Go check it out!

Have a great day!
