Homemade Acai Bowl

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! Today I have a special recipe which I have been dying to do for quite a while… ACAI BOWLS! You’ve probably seen pictures of them before, I first discovered them on Pinterest. But let me tell you, not only do they look delicious, they taste even better!! So here is my recipe for them!

-one pack frozen acai
-one pack of yogurt (see pic below)
-one cup of milk (almond, soy, regular, any kind will work.)
-frozen blueberries (you may also use frozen bananas. They make it a bit thicker. You could even use both!)
-toppings, I used raspberries, almonds, granola, shredded coconut, pumpkin seeds, and hemp seeds. But you may use anything you’d like!

Recipe: Blend together the following items:
^^It should look like this when you’re done blending^^

Next, the fun part!

^^These are all the ingredients I used ūüôā ^^

And, Ta da!! The finished product. Beautiful and just as yummy. Enjoy!!

My Favorite iPhone Editing Apps

Hi, guys! Today I decided to share my favorite photo editing apps I use for Instagram, etc.

1. A Beautiful Mess

I absolutely LOVE ABM, and their blog is one of my favorites. Elsie and Emma are so creative it’s unbelievable! This app is so great, you can write, place doodles, and even filter on your pics! Oh, and their other app, Party Party, is super cool too.

2.  Fotograf

I was recently introduced to Fotograf, and now it’s an app I use on a daily basis! There are SO MANY filters! #FilterHeaven!¬†

3. VSCO Cam

VSCO Cam is a great app. Although they have a ton of basic filters, a lot of them cost money. The app is free, though, and does come with about 10 standard ones!

4. Retrica

Retrica is an awesome app, and like Fotograf, it has tons of filters! (some do cost money, but the ones provided are fantastic!!) All of them are retro and some even look like Polaroid’s which is so cool!

Happy Sunday!

Happy July 4th!!!

Happy 4th, everyone! Just wanted to say ‘hi!’ I haven’t posted anything for a few days. Here are some photos from my day:

 This sno cone was FAB!
¬†Not as fab as this strawberry shortcake, though! ūüôā

 Glow sticks before fireworks!

¬†I’ll admit it: whenever I see or hear fireworks, I always sing, “Baby you’re a firework!” in my head. Whoops. Sorry if it’s now stuck in your head!

Uncle Sam! I could never walk on stilts, by the way! *insert laughing face emoji*

Those are just a few pics from today! I hope you all had an extra awesome day and ate tons of yummy food! ūüėõ

Happy 4th!!!!

Last Day of School

Hey everyone! Happy Thursday!

Yesterday was my last day of 7th grade. My friends and I had a campout in my friend Megan’s backyard. We’d been planning it for a few months, and were so, so excited! (I was mostly excited about the s’mores ūüôā ha ha)

Let me just say that yesterday at school was kind of a drag… but we all knew the end of the day would be the best part! I am very glad I got to spend it with my some of my best friends!

I didn’t take pictures of every little thing. We took photos of ourselves mostly, and I took a bunch of pics of the sparklers, which turned out great! Here are some photos:

Vegan Strawberry Rhubarb Hemp Seed Crisp

Happy Saturday, everyone! I love strawberry rhubarb pie SO¬†much! So, my mom and I went shopping for ingredients to make a crisp. She is vegan, so we did make it vegan. I don’t think there’s a difference, other than no dairy! It tastes just as good! DSC_0031¬†Recipe: ¬†Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8×8 inch square baking pan with vegan butter. Filling:¬†In a large bowl, mix together: 3 cups hulled and quartered¬†strawberries 1¬†large stalk of rhubarb sliced into one inch pieces 2 teaspoons corn starch 1/2 cup white sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 1¬†pinch of sea salt into the greased pan.

DSC_0008 Topping:¬†In a separate bowl, mix together: 1 cup unbleached flour 3/4 cup rolled oats 1/2 cup white sugar 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 cup hemp seeds (Optional, but if you’re looking for extra protein, i would recommend this!) 1/4 teaspoon sea salt¬†into a bowl. DSC_0019DSC_0026¬†Once mixed, add 1/2 cup vegan butter into ingredients, and mix until crumbly. Sprinkle topping loosely over filling, covering the mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes, until fruit is soft and topping is light brown. Enjoy!!

Thanks for reading the first recipe on Studio Josie! I hope there are many more to come! If you happen to make this, post a picture on Instagram and tag me so I can see your creation! ūüôā If you have any questions or comments on the recipe, leave it¬†down below! I¬†would love to hear from you. Have a great weekend! PS, thank you to my mom for helping with the recipe! xoxo, Josie
